RE: 50- Year Class Reunion
Your committee met several times this past year to plan our 50-year class reunion activities. Following is a list of events, with pertinent information for those of you who were unable to attend.
1) Cocktail, Buffet-Style Dinner, and Program was held on Saturday, June23, 2007, at The Officers’ Club, located at Fort Snelling. Cocktail hour began at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:00p.m. (A sponsor is required to hold an event at the Officers’ Club, so Dick Morrison, our high school speech teacher, agreed to sponsor the event and act as emcee. The cost for this event was $40.00 per person. It was a GREAT evening.
2) A tour of Wilson was held between 9:30 and 10:30 am on Friday. The school is still a high school, for immigrant students. The tour was hosted by the present Principal of the school.
3) A Como Park Get-Together was held Friday, June 22, 2007 (following the Wilson tour). The cost for this event was $5.00 per person. For those interested, the Conservatory and the Como Zoo have been significantly improved recently. This was a great time and way to get the weekend celebration going.
4) A visit to the Back to the 50’s Car Show was held Friday, June 22, 2007 (following the Como Park gathering). Those interested viewed the cars from the frontage road along Snelling Avenue .
5) Fred Schultz hosted a picnic at his lake home on Sunday, June 24, 2007. He lives near Highways 47 and 95, on Spectacle Lake, between Cambridge and Princeton. He has a speed boat, pontoon boat, paddle boat, etc. A good time was had by all.
